Conventional Spot Detectors

Conventional spot detection is the backbone of small and mid-size fire alarm systems: detectors that mount on the ceiling, protect the area around them, and report to a conventional panel as a zone rather than an address. The i3 series photoelectric smoke detectors lead this section in 2-wire and 4-wire versions, plain or with a 135 F fixed thermal sensor, an integral sounder, a Form C relay, or combinations of those, and the 5600 series mechanical heat detectors cover fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise sensing at 135 F and 194 F in single- and dual-circuit models for areas where smoke detection is impractical.

Supporting the heads are the 5151 plug-in electronic heat detector and 2151T low-profile photoelectric detector for the 100 Series base platform, 2-wire and 4-wire detector bases with relay and resistor options, and installation accessories such as the A77-AB2 retrofit adapter bracket, SMB600 surface mounting kit, and XR2 pole-mounted installation and removal tool. All i3 detectors use drift compensation and smoothing algorithms to cut nuisance alarms and plug into their base with a simple Stop-Drop-N-Lock motion.
