The HES 9800 Series is a low-profile, surface mounted electric strike built for Adams Rite 8700 and 8800 Series rim exit devices with Starwheel or Interlock latching. All functions are performed within the 1/2" thick strike body, protected by a sleek stainless steel cover that conceals the mounting screws - place the strike on the surface of the frame, align it with the latching mechanism, and install. No cutting required.
The 9800 exceeds ANSI/BHMA A156.31 Grade 1 standards with 1,500 lbs of static strength, 70 ft-lbs of dynamic impact resistance, and 1,000,000 tested cycles, in tamper-resistant stainless steel rated for outdoor use. Two spacer plates ship in the box - 1/16" and 1/8" - to handle varying door gaps (finished to match on 613E, 628E, 630, and BSP units; black stainless spacers on other finishes), with built-in horizontal adjustability for fine alignment.
Operation is field selectable between fail-secure and fail-safe and between 12 or 24 VDC (500 mA / 250 mA, continuous duty), with a non-handed design and internally mounted solenoid for aluminum, hollow metal, or wood frames (wood screws not provided). LBM latchbolt monitor and LBSM latchbolt strike monitor options report door status, and every 9800 carries the SecuriCare 5 year no-fault warranty, extended to 10 years with the SMART Pac III.
