JMAC ID: 2001-1
Product Overview
Overview
The HES 2001 Series is a family of power conversion modules that convert an AC input into DC output for door hardware. These small rectangulars provide power to electric strikes and other access control devices from an AC option, as they support what is probably the most common 12V or 24V AC doorbell/transformer supply. The 2001 Series consists of a plug-in module, and a wire-in module for different looks/styling options. Both models are commercially rated for worldwide use, allowing them to run satisfactorily while supporting global power standards.
Easy Installation & Compatibility
The 2001M plug-in rectifier simply plugs into HES electric strikes equipped with connector ports, making installation fast and plug-and-play. The 2001-1 wire-in rectifier has color-coded leads (red/yellow/black) for splicing into wiring, allowing use with virtually any brand of strike or electronic lock. These rectifiers work with HES & Folger Adam electric strikes and even maglocks or electric bolts, bridging the gap between AC power and DC-only hardware. Both versions support up to 35V AC input and are compatible with low-voltage AC systems in the US, EU, and other regions.
Protection & Performance
The 2001M plug-in model has built-in surge protection through the use of an MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) and a resettable fuse which protects against voltage spikes. This protects the electronics of the strike and importantly, provides an additional degree of longevity to the product by preventing any safety and operational reliability problems caused by unexpected power surges. The output of the rectifiers is unfiltered DC (half-wave), or direct current, and is suitable for access control use. For the wire-in unit, the unit is rated for heavy-duty loads up to 2 Amps. Both models are UL Listed for safety compliance, meaning they meet strict electrical safety standards and codes. They will both provide consistent performance, with the plug-in unit providing a very handy and convenient module and the wire-in unit offering flexibility to hook-up any wiring.
Warranty & Quality
HES backs the 2001 Series with its SecuriCare 3-year no-fault warranty, which covers any failure due to installation errors, vandalism, or other issues. This assurance means buyers can count on free replacement within three years if anything goes wrong, reflecting the manufacturer’s confidence in quality and durability. As part of ASSA ABLOY’s HES line of products, these bridge rectifiers benefit from decades of expertise in electronic locking solutions. Commercial installers and facility managers worldwide trust HES for robust, high-quality access control components, and the 2001 Series continues that tradition by enabling safe and effective power conversion for a wide range of security hardware.
Key Features & Benefits
- AC-to-DC Conversion: A high load AC-to-DC converter rated to a 35 V AC input, outputs up to a 2Amp (wire-in model) / 1Amp (plug-in model) so that you can rest assured that you are using a reliable source to operate heavy duty electric locking devices.
- Dual Module Types: Two styles are available - a plug-in module (2001M) that is designed to plug into compatible electric strikes, and a wire-in module (2001-1) with pigtail leads, to fit a wide range of installation requirements.
- Surge Protection (2001M): The plug-in rectifier includes a built-in MOV surge suppressor and resettable fuse to protect connected devices from voltage spikes and overloads.
- High Load Capacity: A high load AC-to-DC converter rated to a 35 V AC input, outputs up to a 2Amp (wire-in model) / 1Amp (plug-in model) so that you can rest assured that you are using a reliable source to operate heavy duty electric locking devices.
- Wide Compatibility: Designed for use with HES & Folger Adam electric strikes, as well as electric bolts, magnetic locks, and other access control hardware that require DC input. (Not recommended for the HES 1006 strike model.)
- Easy Installation: Simple to integrate – the 2001M snaps into place with existing strike connectors, while the 2001-1’s clearly insulated wire leads can be quickly spliced into any system for a hassle-free setup.
