The HES 5000 Series is a low-profile Grade 1 electric strike for cylindrical locksets, purpose-built for openings with limited space behind the jamb. The slim 1-1/16" (27.3 mm) body accommodates 1/2" to 5/8" throw latchbolts (5/8" with a 1/8" door gap), and its keeper pin locking design enables the strike to exceed the ratings of the surrounding frame, door, and locking hardware.

Rated for 1,500 lbs of static strength and 70 ft-lbs of dynamic impact, and endurance tested to 1,000,000 cycles, the tamper-resistant strike is field selectable between fail-secure and fail-safe. The non-handed body installs with an internally mounted solenoid, plug-in wiring connector, and an included trim enhancer, and runs on dual voltage 12/24 VDC/VAC with a PoE-friendly low current draw.

Order the strike body alone with a faceplate kit for metal, aluminum, or wood frames, or choose the 5000C Complete Pac, which bundles the 501 and 501A faceplates in one box (available in 630 finish). An optional LBM latchbolt monitor reports latch status to access control systems, and every 5000 carries the SecuriCare 5 year no-fault warranty, extended to 10 years with the SMART Pac III power controller.

Frequently Asked Questions

What locks does the 5000 work with?
Cylindrical locksets with 1/2" to 5/8" throw latchbolts; a 5/8" throw requires a 1/8" door gap. For mortise locksets or deadbolts, see the HES 1006.
Is it fire rated?
No - the 5000 Series carries no UL 10C fire rating. For fire-rated openings in a compact strike, use the HES 4500C.
Can I choose fail-safe or fail-secure?
Yes - operation is field selectable between fail-secure (locked when unpowered) and fail-safe (unlocked when unpowered).
What power does it require?
Dual voltage 12/24 VDC/VAC with 240 mA / 120 mA draw - PoE friendly for modern access control systems.
What is included in the 5000C Complete Pac?
The strike plus the 501 (ANSI metal) and 501A (aluminum) faceplates in one box, in 630 finish.
Can it report latch status?
Yes - add the optional LBM latchbolt monitor for a remote latched/unlatched signal.
Can it be installed outdoors?
Yes - UL 1034 listed and suitable for outdoor use, with ANSI/SDI 250.13 windstorm certification.
What warranty does it carry?
The SecuriCare 5 year no-fault warranty, extended to 10 years with the SMART Pac III power controller.
