The HES 1006 Series is a Grade 1 stainless steel electric strike that provides remote release for virtually any cylindrical or mortise lockset - including locks with a 1" deadbolt. Its dual interlocking plunger design delivers more than 3,000 lbs of static holding force and 350 ft-lbs of dynamic impact resistance, with endurance testing beyond 1,000,000 cycles, making one strike body the answer for retrofits and new construction alike.
A 12/24 VDC continuous-duty solenoid (450 mA @ 12 V, 250 mA @ 24 V) drives the keeper and is field configurable for fail-secure (standard) or fail-safe operation. Optional LBM latchbolt monitor and LBSM latchbolt strike monitor switches report door status to access control panels through Form C dry contacts.
The non-handed body drops into a standard 4-7/8" ANSI frame prep in metal or wood frames, with horizontal keeper shims shipped with the lock for on-site alignment. Order the base strike by finish, monitoring, and fail mode, or choose a Complete Pac kit - CLB (latchbolt), CDB (deadbolt), CAS, or CS with the SMART Pac III power controller included. Every 1006 carries a 5 year no-fault warranty, extended to 10 years when installed with the SMART Pac III.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does the 1006 work with deadbolts?
- Yes - unlike most electric strikes, the 1006 accommodates cylindrical and mortise locksets including a 1" deadbolt, with deadbolt faceplate kits such as the CDB Complete Pac.
- How is it different from the HES 1500 and 1600?
- The 1500/1600 add in-frame adjustability but hold 1,500 lbs and do not capture a full 1" deadbolt. The 1006 delivers 3,000+ lbs holding force and covers latch and deadbolt applications in one body.
- Is it fail-safe or fail-secure?
- Fail-secure is standard (locked on power loss); it is field convertible to fail-safe, or can be ordered either way.
- What power does it require?
- 12 or 24 VDC continuous duty, drawing 450 mA @ 12 V or 250 mA @ 24 V.
- Can it report door status?
- Yes - optional LBM (latchbolt monitor) and LBSM (latchbolt strike monitor) switches provide Form C dry contact outputs to access control systems.
- Can it be installed outdoors?
- Yes - it is UL 1034 listed and rated for outdoor use.
- Is it fire rated?
- Yes - UL 10C fire rated for 3 hours on single doors and 1-1/2 hours on double doors in fail-secure mode.
- What warranty does it carry?
- A 5 year no-fault warranty, extended to 10 years total when installed with the SMART Pac III power controller (included in the CS kit).
