Wave Switches
Touchless Wave Switches
A wave switch activates when a hand passes in front of it, so nobody has to touch anything to open the door. That matters in healthcare, food service, laboratories, restrooms, and clean rooms, where touch points spread contamination, and it helps anyone whose hands are full or who cannot press a button.
Securitron's Wave Sense Switches use short-range motion sensing, so a wave of the hand activates the switch without contact. They can replace a push plate or push button as a request-to-exit device, start a door operator, or act as an on and off switch for other access control devices. Single-gang and double-gang versions fit standard boxes, and they operate on 12 or 24 VDC. Because detection range and output behavior need to suit the opening, set them up with the lock controller or timer so the door releases long enough to pass through. On maglocked egress doors, a touchless switch adds convenience alongside, not in place of, the manual emergency release that codes require.
