PB Push Button Series
Momentary Push Buttons
A momentary push button releases a lock only while it is held down, which makes it the basic building block for request-to-exit, remote release from a reception desk, and door operator activation. On its own it is a simple switch; paired with a release timer it holds the door open for a set time, so the same button can serve many different door arrangements.
The PB series covers the usual shapes and contact configurations. The PB2 and PB2E are 2 inch square buttons on stainless steel single-gang plates, illuminated and non-illuminated respectively, and the PB22 adds double pole, double throw contacts for switching two circuits at once. The PB5 is a 2 inch round button with a light and interchangeable red, green, and blue accessibility lenses, and the PB is a momentary DPST illuminated button with red and green lenses. Narrow stile versions such as the PB4LN-2, with a vandal-resistant illuminated halo, fit aluminum storefront frames. Illumination kits add a light to compatible buttons: the PB2-LK fits the PB2E, PB5E, and EEB2, and the PB3-LK fits the PB3E and EEB3N. Where code requires a 30 second manual release on a maglocked egress door, use an emergency exit button with a built-in timer instead.
