Reflected Beam Detectors

Three reflected-type beam smoke detectors cover conventional projected-beam applications. The BEAM1224 is the 12/24 V, 4-wire single-ended workhorse, shipped with an 8 inch reflector and covering roughly 15 to 230 feet per unit, with the BEAMLRK long-range kit taking it to about 328 feet. The BEAM1224S adds an integral sensitivity test feature so the required calibrated test is performed from the detector's own test station rather than with filters on a lift. The OSI-R-SS is a newer conventional reflected beam with integral sensitivity test, 8 inch reflector, and compatibility with the RTS151 and RTS151KEY remote stations.

All three offer selectable alarm thresholds, automatic gain control against gradual obscuration, and separate alarm and trouble relays for the panel. Each unit protects a wide swath of floor area, so a pair of detectors can replace dozens of spot devices in a large open room and simplify wiring at height.
