Request-to-Exit Bars & Exit Device Switch Kits

SDC egress devices release electromagnetic door locks from the door itself, with pressure sense bars, mechanical switch bars, and request-to-exit switch kits installed in mechanical exit devices.

The PSB560V Sure Exit pressure sense bar has two redundant solid state pressure sensors: when slight pressure is applied to the non-latching bar, the electronics immediately release the electromagnetic door locks, and activation force is factory set at 5 lbs and field adjustable up to 15 lbs. PSB560 replacement parts such as the PSB560-62 end caps and the PSB5604 10 ft cable are listed with the bars. The MSB550-2V mechanical switch bar actuates a microswitch under slight pressure, with two SPDT contacts and only 1/8 inch total bar movement, and weather resistant switch bars are also offered.

Request-to-exit switch kits are installed in mechanical exit devices, with kits designed for Von Duprin, Sargent, Dor-O-Matic, and Adams Rite devices among others. When the exit device is depressed, the switch releases magnetic locks for egress or may trigger a delayed egress lock.
