Mechanical Request-to-Exit Switch Bars

SDC MSB550 series switch bars are non-latching mechanical request-to-exit bars with two SPDT contacts, designed to release electromagnetic door locks for uninhibited egress.

When slight pressure is applied, a microswitch is actuated, immediately releasing the electromagnetic door lock, and trigger activation is quick and quiet. Total bar movement is only 1/8 inch, and the bar is an economical alternative to sensor activated bars. The heavy-duty aluminum extrusion, rugged end caps, and all metal mounting assembly give a rigid construction that prevents malfunction due to sagging or warped doors or tweaked glass door stiles. The narrow profile projects only 1.875 inches from the door with a 2.375 inch height, bars may be field cut, and the bars are UL Listed as Access Control System Units and Burglary Resistant and CSFM listed.

The MSB550-2V has an aluminum finish for 36 inch doors, and the MSB550-2V-42 is the aluminum version for 42 inch doors. The 36 inch bar is also offered in bright brass (MSB550-2C), polished stainless steel (MSB550-2S), and brushed stainless steel (MSB550-2U), and weather resistant versions such as the MSB550-2V42W are listed.
