Two-Piece Keypad Systems

A keypad system splits the keypad from its control electronics. The keypad at the door handles only code entry, while the control board that stores codes and switches the lock mounts inside the protected area. Pulling the keypad off the wall therefore gives an intruder nothing to short or bypass, which is why this design is specified for medium and high security doors controlling electric strikes and Magnalocks.

Two form factors cover most doors. The DK-16 is an indoor keypad for a standard single-gang box, and the DK-26 is a narrow stile keypad for aluminum storefront doors and frames, offered in satin stainless and black finishes and connected to its control board by a supplied cable. Replacement keypads such as the DK-26PSS and DK-16P, and the DK1626CBO control board sold separately, let a damaged or worn component be swapped without replacing a working system. Wiegand versions such as the DK16W and DK-26WBK output 26-bit data so the keypad joins an access control system the way a card reader would, putting code users on the same schedules and audit trail as card holders.
