Wiegand Keypads
Wiegand Keypads
Wiegand is the long-standing wiring standard that card readers use to send credential data to an access control panel. A Wiegand keypad sends a PIN in that same format, so the panel treats a code exactly like a card: it checks the code against schedules and user permissions, decides whether to release the lock, and records the event. That puts keypad users under the same management and audit trail as everyone else, which a standalone keypad cannot do.
Securitron's Wiegand keypads come in two formats. Single-gang models with illuminated 3 by 4 keypads and flush stainless faceplates suit indoor walls, and narrow stile models fit aluminum storefront frames in fully weatherproof stainless steel or black finishes for exterior doors. Several models can also be paired with Securitron's own digital controller to run up to two electrically locked doors without an access control panel, which gives a small site a growth path: start with the keypad and controller, then connect the same keypad to a panel later. Confirm the panel accepts the keypad's Wiegand output format before ordering.
