Intrusion Control Panels & Systems
The control panel decides what a security system can become. It sets how many zones the building can carry, whether those zones are hardwired, wireless, or both, how many independent areas can be armed separately, and which communicators and keypads will work with it. Choosing it is the first decision on a job and the hardest one to undo, so it is usually specified for where the site will be in five years rather than where it is on install day.
Commercial-grade panels scale to well over a hundred zones with multiple partitions, large user code lists, and event logs deep enough to reconstruct an incident, and they accept hardwired and wireless points on the same system. All-in-one panels put the processor, touchscreen, radio, and sounder in one enclosure for a fast residential or small commercial install. Combination panels cover fire and burglary from a single board where code and the authority having jurisdiction allow it. Many panels ship as kits that bundle the keypads, communicator, and sensors that match them.
