Communicators

Alarm Communicators

A communicator is the panel's link to the outside world. It carries alarm, trouble, and supervisory signals to the central station and gives the end user remote arming, notifications, and app access. As copper phone lines disappear, this is the part of the system that most often decides whether an older panel can stay in service, and a communicator upgrade is frequently the whole scope of a modernization job.

Most current models are dual-path, using LTE cellular as the primary or backup route alongside the building's internet connection, so a cut line or a failed router does not take reporting down with it. The listing matters as much as the radio: commercial fire installations need a communicator listed to UL 864, such as the LTE-CFA, while high security applications such as banks and jewelers call for encrypted line security under UL 365 and UL 1610, which the LTE-HSV provides. Cellular models are also carrier-specific, so confirm coverage before ordering.

Match a communicator to the panel under intrusion panels and systems or security systems, and see arming devices under keypads. Browse the full Honeywell Ademco / Resideo catalog. Contact our team to match a radio to your panel and carrier.
