An estate that has grown over twenty years usually has all three technologies in it at once: smart readers on the new build, proximity readers on the old wing, and swipe readers on everything that was never part of the access system.

The credentials here carry smart, proximity and a magnetic stripe on one card, designed to work with the OmniClass readers and built on 13.56MHz technology, listed in 26 bit and 34 bit formats.

Two technology versions are in smart plus prox credentials and smart with magnetic stripe, and smart only cards are in smart credentials.
