HES KS-M Series Keyless Server Cabinet Locks provide a commercial lock solution for data center enclosures, bringing the reliability of an electric strike mechanism to server cabinet doors as part of a networked security system. These integrated locks are designed to seamlessly tie into existing access control infrastructure – extending electronic credential access to server racks and other critical equipment cabinets. Each lock replaces or upgrades a standard mechanical cabinet handle, allowing authorized entry via prox/smart cards or mobile credentials while keeping cabinets securely locked against unauthorized access.
The KS-M Series features both wireless (Aperio) and hardwired (Wiegand/OSDP) connectivity options to suit different security setups. The wireless models communicate over 2.4 GHz Aperio technology through a hub, enabling real-time monitoring and audit trails via the facility’s access control software. The hardwired models directly integrate with access panels using industry-standard Wiegand or OSDP protocols. All variants come with a built-in HID multiCLASS SE contactless reader, supporting 125 kHz proximity and 13.56 MHz smart card credentials (e.g., HID iCLASS, iCLASS Seos, MIFARE DESFire) as well as NFC-enabled mobile access. This ensures compatibility with most employee badges and security system credentials out-of-the-box.
The HES KS-M Series locks are built for security and reliability, with total monitoring capability and robust construction. Each lock will monitor the locked state of the cabinet and the latch position; there is also an optional door position sensor (DPS) to confirm the door is closed and secure. The SFIC mechanical key override allows for manual unlocking using a 6- or 7-pin core in case of an emergency. This feature is important in the event of a power or network outage when critical servers are not accessible; both mechanical and electronic access allow the servers to be reached. The locks are non-handed and have a standard footprint that fits 25 mm x 150 mm server cabinet cutouts making them easy to install on most swing-handle server racks. The locks are designed to automatically relock the cabinet, providing continual security once access is over. All models are constructed with robust materials and engineered with the tolerances to withstand more than 350 lbs static force. These cabinet locks provide solid physical security against prying or forced-entry methods.
