Control Devices

Control Panels, Keypads & Modules

Three kinds of hardware make up the controlling half of a DSC system: the panel that runs it, the keypads people use to arm it, and the modules that extend what the panel can reach. They share one bus and one programming scheme, which is a large part of why the brand has stayed so widely installed. A technician who knows one PowerSeries job can walk into the next one and work.

Panels scale from the six-zone PC1616 through the PC1832 and PC1864 to MAXSYS boards of well over a hundred zones, hardwired and wireless on the same board, and are sold as bare boards for a swap or in cabinets and kits for a fresh install. Keypads run from slim LED units for a back door to alphanumeric LCD displays that name the zone in plain language, with RFK models that fold a 433 MHz wireless receiver into the keypad itself. Modules cover the rest: wireless receivers, telephone and voice interfaces, access control, and supplementary power.
