Modules
Expansion & Interface Modules
Modules are how a DSC panel reaches past its own terminal strip. Some add capacity, some add a different way to talk to the system, and all of them sit on the panel bus so the panel supervises them as part of the installation rather than as loose add-ons.
Wireless receivers are the most common addition. The RF5108-433 connects up to eight wireless detection devices to PowerSeries and earlier PC-series panels, extending coverage into areas that are difficult or impossible to reach with conventional wiring, and the kit version pairs that receiver with support for eight wireless keys that do not consume zone slots. Beyond radio, interface modules change how people use the system: the ESCORT4580 voice module lets any touch-tone phone, on site or calling in, act as a keypad with spoken prompts describing system status. MAXSYS access control kits bundle a panel, two-reader module, proximity reader, and keys as a starting package that can be expanded later, and supplementary power supplies and battery chargers carry the current draw that comes with a longer device list. Structured cabling parts such as splitters and filters are stocked here as well.
