The Potter Electric VSR-C-3 is a vane-type waterflow switch for use on wet sprinkler systems. It is UL Listed for use on Type K, L, and M 3" copper pipe.
The VSR-C-3 may also be used as a sectional waterflow detector on large systems.
The VSR-C-3 contains two single poles, double throw, snap action switches, and an adjustable, instantly recycling pneumatic retard. The switches are actuated when a flow of 10 GPM (38 LPM) or more occurs downstream of the device. The flow condition must exist for a period of time necessary to overcome the selected retard period.
For use with wet sprinkler systems, the Model VSR is a water flow switch of the vane type. For use on steel pipe, schedules 10 through 40, diameters 2" through 8," it is UL Listed and FM Approved (50 mm thru 200 mm). Sizes from 2" to 8" are LPC authorized (50 mm thru 200 mm).
On large systems, the VSR can also be employed as a sectional waterflow detector. Two single poles, double throw, snap action switches and an instantaneously recycling pneumatic retard are included in the VSR. When a flow of 10 GPM (38 LPM) or more takes place downstream of the device, the switches are activated. To overcome the chosen retard period, the flow state must endure for the amount of time required.
A general-purpose, die-cast enclosure houses the VSR switches and the retard device. Two tamper-resistant screws that need a unique key to remove hold the cover in place. As an extra, there is a field-installable cover tamper switch that can be used to signal unlawful cover removal.
