Saddle Type Flow Switches
Vane Type Waterflow Switches
Vane type waterflow switches detect water flow in wet sprinkler systems, and they can also be used as sectional waterflow detectors on large systems.
The VSR series, including the VSR-4, VSR-6, VSR-8, VSR-3, VSR-2-1/2, and VSR-2, is UL Listed and FM Approved for steel pipe, schedules 10 through 40. Each switch contains two SPDT snap action switches and an adjustable, instantly recycling pneumatic retard. The switches actuate when a flow of 10 GPM (38 LPM) or more occurs downstream of the device and continues long enough to overcome the selected retard period. Contacts are rated 10.0 amps at 125/250VAC, and the VSR-4 is rated for 450 psi system pressure. The VSR-10 is UL and cUL Listed for 10 inch steel pipe.
Specialty versions include the VSR-C switches for copper pipe, such as the VSR-C-2, which is UL Listed for Type K, L, and M copper pipe, and the VSR-FE2 series with an output relay and an adjustable electronic retard. The VSG series is for wet pipe water mist systems where a low flow for alarm is required and actuates at a flow of 3 gallons per minute. The VSR-AT auto-test switches can be remotely tested without flowing water using the optional ATC-1 or ATC-4 auto test control, or addressable relays and monitor modules on a listed addressable fire alarm panel.
