Small Pipe Waterflow Switches
These Potter vane type waterflow switches are for wet sprinkler systems with 1 inch to 2 inch pipe.
The VSR-S is for 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2, or 2 inch pipe and contains two SPDT snap action switches and an adjustable, instantly recycling pneumatic retard; the switches actuate when a flow of 10 gallons per minute or more occurs downstream, and the unit can also be used as a sectional waterflow detector on large systems. The VSR-SG is for wet sprinkler systems using CPVC plastic fittings, and the VSR-ST is for plastic, copper, or iron pipe; both are equipped with a union for installation in confined spaces and are rated up to 175 PSI.
The VS-SP does not have a retard to prevent false alarms due to water surges, so it should not be used on systems with variable water pressure supplies, except in the case of elevator recall. It may be used as a sectional flow indicator on large sprinkler systems and on smaller systems such as mobile homes and residential dwellings.
