The Fire-Lite H365 is a 135 F (57 C) fixed-temperature intelligent addressable heat detector with LiteSpeed communication, rotary decimal addressing, and a two-wire signaling line circuit connection. Designed for compatible Fire-Lite addressable fire alarm control panels, it features thermistor-based temperature sensing, dual LED status indicators with 360-degree visibility, magnetic functional testing, and a tamper-resistant design. The detector operates from 15-32 VDC, supports UL 521-approved spacing up to 50 feet, and uses a detachable mounting base for simplified installation and maintenance.
Fire-Lite H365 135 F Intelligent Addressable Fixed-Temperature Heat Detector
The Fire-Lite H365 is a low-profile intelligent addressable heat detector with a factory-default fixed-temperature alarm threshold of 135 F (57 C), designed for integration with compatible Fire-Lite addressable fire alarm control panels. Part of the Fire-Lite H365 Series by Honeywell, this detector uses advanced thermistor-based sensing technology to monitor ambient temperature and communicate thermal alarm conditions to the connected fire alarm system. The H365 is a direct replacement for the earlier Fire-Lite H355 Series, providing updated electronics, a contemporary white housing, and improved installation and maintenance features. Unlike conventional heat detectors that operate through standalone mechanical contacts, the H365 communicates over the fire alarm panel's signaling line circuit (SLC), allowing each detector to report its individual address, device identification, and operating status. It is designed for commercial and institutional fire protection applications, including offices, schools, warehouses, utility areas, storage rooms, and other indoor locations requiring addressable heat detection.
The Fire-Lite H365 incorporates a thermistor-based thermal sensing circuit with a factory-default 135 F fixed-temperature detection setting. Through compatible fire alarm control panels supporting programmable thermal modes, the H365 Series can be configured for 135 F fixed-temperature detection, combined fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise detection, or 190 F high-temperature detection, subject to the specific panel and detector configuration. On control panels without this programming capability, the standard H365 defaults to 135 F fixed-temperature operation. The detector includes two integral LED indicators providing 360-degree visibility, allowing technicians and building personnel to identify detector status from different viewing angles. The LEDs provide panel-controlled operating, alarm, and diagnostic indications, while an optional RA100Z remote LED annunciator allows detector status to be displayed at a separate location. A built-in magnetic test switch supports local functional testing without removing the detector, and compatible control panels provide remote testing and walk-test capabilities for system commissioning and maintenance.
The H365 operates on a 15-32 VDC signaling line circuit and requires a compatible Fire-Lite addressable control panel using the LiteSpeed communication protocol. Its electrical specifications include a maximum average standby current of 200 microamps at 24 VDC, a maximum alarm current of 2 mA, and a maximum operating current of 4.5 mA, depending on communication and LED conditions. The detector uses rotary decimal address switches for individual point identification, allowing the fire alarm control panel to identify the precise location of an activated detector. The number of available addresses is determined by the connected control panel and its SLC configuration. The detector is designed for ambient operating temperatures from -4 F to 100 F (-20 C to 38 C) when configured for standard fixed-temperature or rate-of-rise operation, with a relative humidity range of 10% to 93%, non-condensing. Its thermal detection design supports a UL 521-approved maximum spacing of 50 feet (15.24 meters) between detectors, subject to ceiling height, installation conditions, applicable codes, and the authority having jurisdiction.
The Fire-Lite H365 features a fire-resistant plastic housing measuring approximately 2 inches high when installed in a compatible detector base. With the standard B300-6 mounting base, the assembly measures approximately 6.2 inches in diameter, while the detector itself weighs approximately 3.4 ounces (95 grams). The plug-in construction allows the sensing head to be removed for inspection, testing, or replacement without disconnecting the field wiring from the mounting base. Compatible bases include the B300-6 standard flanged base, B501 compact mounting base, and selected relay, isolator, and sounder bases listed for the applicable fire alarm system. The detachable base uses SEMS-type wiring terminals and supports mounting to compatible electrical boxes or properly prepared mounting surfaces. Additional installation features include a built-in tamper-resistant locking option, back-pressure-resistant construction, and support for magnetic functional testing. The H365 is UL 521 listed for heat detection applications, with manufacturer-documented UL/ULC listing file S2517, FM approval, and California State Fire Marshal recognition. Its addressable operation, low standby current, programmable system integration, and simplified maintenance features make it a suitable thermal detection device for new Fire-Lite fire alarm installations and compatible H355 Series replacement projects.
