The Fire-Lite ANN-80 is a red, 80-character backlit LCD remote fire alarm annunciator with an integrated keyswitch and system control buttons designed for compatible Fire-Lite fire alarm control panels. It displays alarm, trouble, supervisory, AC power, and alarm-silenced conditions through a four-line LCD and dedicated status LEDs. The ANN-80 communicates over a four-wire ANN-BUS connection, supports remote installation up to 6,000 feet from the control panel, and provides acknowledge, silence, drill, and reset functions. Up to eight ANN-80 annunciators can share a compatible panel's ANN-BUS.

The Fire-Lite ANN-80 is a remote fire alarm annunciator featuring an 80-character backlit LCD display, integrated system controls, and a key-operated security switch for use with compatible Fire-Lite fire alarm control panels. Its four-line display, organized into 20 characters per line, reproduces information from the host fire alarm control panel, allowing building personnel and emergency responders to monitor fire alarm system conditions from a secondary location. The ANN-80 displays English-language information identifying device types, individual point alarms, trouble conditions, supervisory events, zones, and custom alphanumeric labels programmed into the control panel. Five dedicated LED indicators provide immediate visual identification of AC power, alarm, trouble, supervisory, and alarm-silenced conditions. Its distinctive red enclosure identifies the unit as a fire alarm annunciator, making it suitable for building entrances, security stations, maintenance areas, and other locations requiring remote system status monitoring.

The ANN-80 incorporates four remote system control functions: System Acknowledge, Signal Silence, Drill, and System Reset, allowing authorized personnel to operate supported fire alarm functions without returning to the main control panel. An integrated keyswitch enables or disables the control buttons and mechanically secures the annunciator enclosure against unauthorized access. Individual control functions and keyswitch operation can also be enabled or disabled through compatible fire alarm control panel programming. The enclosure includes tamper supervision and a configurable local audible sounder to provide additional security and notification capabilities. During a primary AC power failure, the LCD backlight automatically turns off to conserve standby battery capacity and reactivates when an alarm condition occurs. The annunciator also supports time and date information, providing a convenient remote interface for identifying and responding to fire alarm system events.

The Fire-Lite ANN-80 communicates with its host control panel through a four-wire ANN-BUS connection consisting of two serial communication conductors and two power conductors. The annunciator receives nominal 24 VDC power from the compatible fire alarm control panel or an appropriately rated, UL Listed, filtered auxiliary power supply. Manufacturer documentation specifies an 18-28 VDC operating range with a maximum current draw of 40 mA at 24 VDC, while the revised ANN-80 Series installation document provides updated electrical ratings for applicable hardware. Each ANN-BUS device uses a unique address, allowing up to eight compatible annunciators or other ANN-BUS devices to share the control panel's communication circuit, subject to the panel's supported configuration and power limitations. The ANN-80 supports communication distances of up to 6,000 feet (1,800 meters) when installed within the manufacturer's wiring and voltage-drop requirements. Its supervised communication and power connections support remote system monitoring without requiring a separate dedicated fire alarm control panel at each annunciator location.

The Fire-Lite ANN-80 features a compact enclosure measuring 6.875 inches wide, 5.375 inches high, and 1.375 inches deep, supporting surface or semi-flush mounting to a single-gang, double-gang, or standard 4-inch square electrical box. An optional ANN-SB80KIT-R surface-mount backbox and angled viewing wedge provides additional installation flexibility for locations requiring improved display visibility. The annunciator is designed for indoor installations in dry environments, with an operating temperature range of 32 F to 120 F (0 C to 49 C). The ANN-80 is UL 864 Listed and FM Approved, with additional applicable California State Fire Marshal and local agency approvals. Compatible Fire-Lite systems include the MS-5UD and MS-10UD conventional fire alarm control panels and other ANN-BUS-equipped Fire-Lite panels identified in their respective installation manuals.
