Takex Photoelectric Beams and Detection Sensors

Photoelectric Beam Sensors

A beam pair is the standard way to protect a boundary rather than an area. Takex splits the range by how many beams cross the gap. Twin beams are described as designed to meet the highest standards of quality and reliability for photoelectric beam intrusion detection. Quad beams synchronise 16 beam paths for maximum stability, and the PB-IN-HF line is described as the flagship of the Takex range of infrared photoelectric beams.

Ranges run from 20 and 30 feet indoors out to 660 and 1320 feet outdoors, with double modulated and intelligent double modulated versions, four selectable transmission frequencies so adjacent beams do not interfere, and N/O or N/C selectable relay outputs on 10 to 30VDC. Anti-crawl versions detect low-level or crawling intrusion, miniaturised beams suit covert applications such as an ATM, a motor driven shutter or a corridor, and one model adds a built-in light beacon and siren to intimidate an intruder at the fence rather than after entry.

Passive Infrared Sensors

The PIR range covers ceiling mount, wall mount and outdoor housings. The PA-6800 ceiling mount indoor sensors combine a discreet compact appearance with outstanding performance, and the PA-7000 Digital-Quad sensors are described as the newest line of quad element PIRs from the originator of quad detection.

Coverage is specified per model: wide angle patterns at 36, 40 and 53 feet, long range at 66 feet, ultra-wide 180 degree coverage at 26 feet, vertical and horizontal curtains, and pet immune versions. High ceiling models protect showrooms, halls and factories with a high-density protection area, and one outdoor sensor offers wide angle, horizontal curtain, vertical curtain and long range patterns from the same unit. Microwave sensors, combination beam and microwave units and a 60GHz mmWave indoor presence radar cover what infrared cannot.

Flame and Air Quality Sensors

Flame sensors detect ultraviolet rays contained in flames rather than heat or smoke, which is why they react to an open flame in seconds instead of waiting for a plume to reach a ceiling. Indoor models activate a built-in alarm sound plus an open collector output, weatherproof versions cover outdoor and indoor use, and one model outputs a recorded warning message through a speaker.

A vape and smoke particle sensor is listed alongside them, with standard and low sensitivity settings, an alarm buzzer and an N/O or N/C selectable relay, for washrooms and other places a smoke detector would nuisance trip.

Door Sensors and Sensor Speakers

Request to exit sensors cover the threshold of a doorway using passive infrared, with single or double door width selectable, an adjustable relay hold timer and two Form C outputs on 12 or 24 VAC or VDC, listed in white and silver.

Automatic door sensors use near infra-red beams in a high-density 32 zone, 4 row pattern to detect movement of a person or object and open the door, listed in silver and white. Sensor speakers pair detection with audio, triggering different recorded messages for day and night, and a horn speaker with a built-in microphone plays a recorded message on an N/O input.

Industrial Photoelectric and Fiber Sensors

A large part of this catalog is factory automation rather than security. Through-beam, diffuse reflective, retroreflective and background suppression photoelectric sensors are listed with NPN and PNP outputs, along with fiber optic sensors and the fiber cables and adapters that feed them.

Also here: ultrasonic sensors, mark sensors for registration marks on a web, light curtain sensors, and general purpose sensors with a digital display, manual setting and anti-interference. Detection distances run from 100mm and 500mm up to 30m through-beam.

Beam Towers, Brackets and Covers

Outdoor beams need housings and mounts, and this is where a perimeter job gets finished. Beam towers take tower mount versions of the quad beams, with conduit entry boxes for the bottom of the tower, concrete setting floor brackets for standard and single sided bunker towers, and 24 volt heater kits with a thermostat so the optics stay clear in winter.

Sensor accessories cover adjustable wall and ceiling brackets that fit most standard Takex PIR sensors, L brackets for the reflector beams, pole mount brackets, stainless steel back plates, twin beam and synchro-quad beam covers, an anti-masking base unit that adds anti-masking to several Takex products, and a solar panel and battery kit for the solar powered beams.
