Conventional
Conventional Duct Smoke Detection
Duct smoke detectors sample the air moving through HVAC ductwork and, on alarm, shut down air handlers or close dampers to keep smoke from spreading through a building, the function NFPA 90A requires on larger air handling units. System Sensor's conventional InnovairFlex line covers 4-wire (D4120), watertight NEMA 4 (D4120W), and 2-wire (D2) photoelectric duct detectors, with a plug-in sensor head, operation in airflow from 100 to 4,000 feet per minute, and a pivoting housing that fits square and rectangular footprints on round or rectangular duct.
Around the detector sit the parts that make the installation work: metal sampling and exhaust tubes sized to duct width, multi-voltage relays that switch fans and dampers, remote test and reset stations, annunciators for systems without a panel, and a sensitivity reader for maintenance. Low-profile 2151 and 2D51 photoelectric heads handle special applications such as no-flow and low-flow air handling units under UL 268A.
