Duct Smoke Detectors & HVAC Accessories

System Sensor duct smoke detectors monitor HVAC airflow and shut down air handlers or close dampers when smoke is detected, limiting smoke spread through ductwork as required by NFPA 90A. Photoelectric duct detector housings such as the D4120 draw a sample of air from the duct through a sampling tube and signal the fire alarm panel.

Metal sampling tubes are sized to the duct width, from the ST-3 for narrow ducts up through the ST-10 and exhaust tubes for wide ducts, and pull a representative air sample into the detector. Control relays, including the R-series and epoxy-encapsulated PR-series with activation LEDs, switch fans, dampers, and auxiliary functions on alarm, and remote test stations allow testing without reaching a ceiling-mounted detector.
