Door Position & Latch Monitoring

An access control system that only knows whether it sent an unlock signal is guessing about the door. Monitoring devices close that gap by reporting what actually happened: whether the door is closed, whether the latch caught, and whether someone is trying to defeat the switch. That information cuts false alarms, catches propped doors, and provides the trigger many delayed egress and interlock sequences depend on.

Door position switches report whether the door is open or closed. Concealed DPS-M models install in metal doors and DPS-W models in wood doors, in black, white, and gray finishes, and they can also start a Securitron XDT exit delay timer. Latch monitors go a step further by confirming the latch is engaged: the LMS-1 fits a 2-3/4 inch ANSI strike cutout and the LML-1 a 4-7/8 inch cutout, each with an SPDT switch. For high-security areas, MSS maximum security switches are built for doors where an attempt to defeat the switch is a concern, with the MSS-1C mortise-mounting concealed in a 4-7/8 inch ANSI cutout and the MSS-1G surface mounting with armored cable options. Door prop alarms sound when a door is left open too long.
