Relays

Relay Modules & Logic Packs

Relays let one device's signal control another circuit, and in access control they are how doors interact with each other and with the rest of the building. They release locks when the fire alarm activates, shunt a door alarm during a valid exit, latch an alarm until someone resets it, or keep two doors of a vestibule from opening at the same time.

The AQL R8 provides eight relayed outputs from a dual power bus, adding switched outputs to an AQL intelligent power supply so each lock or device can be controlled individually. RLP relay logic packs, the RLP-24 for 24 VDC and RLP-12 for 12 VDC, handle common door logic in a single module: a DPDT latching alarm relay, a relay for two-door interlocks used in mantraps and sallyports, or a brief signal delay that eliminates timing conflicts among multiple monitoring points on one door. RB-4 relay boards, the RB-4-24 and RB-4-12, provide normally open or normally closed relays that can be interconnected for interlock installations, alarm shunts, and status reporting. Match the relay's coil voltage to the system and check contact ratings against the load being switched.
