Explosion Proof Valve Supervisory Switches

The Potter OSYSU-EX and OSYSU-EX-O supervise the position of an outside screw and yoke (OS&Y) gate valve in hazardous locations, and both feature a UL listed explosion proof switch enclosure.

The device mounts on the valve to monitor the rising stem. When properly mounted, the trip rod rests in a groove filed into the valve stem, and when the stem moves as the valve closes, the rod is pushed out of the groove and activates the switch; the trip rod length is adjustable. Both provide one set of SPDT contacts rated 15 amps at 125VAC and list environmental limitations of Class I, Div. 1 & 2, Groups C, D, Class II, Div. 1 & 2, Groups E, F, G. The OSYSU-EX is the model for indoor applications, and the OSYSU-EX-O is for hazardous outdoor locations, rated NEMA 1, 3, 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 7, 9 and 13 across -13°F to 185°F.
