Potter EVD electronic vibration detection systems are designed for primary protection of mercantile or bank safes and vaults and ATM machines, and for supplementary protection of interior units such as file cabinets, display cases, walls, and ceilings. They must be used with an appropriate UL listed control unit.

The controller detects short duration, large amplitude signals like those from attacks with explosions, hammering, or chiseling, as well as long duration, small amplitude signals like those from torches, thermic lances, drills, grinders, or cutting discs. The EVD-1 detector has a Form C alarm relay and a Form A tamper contact, each rated 2.0 amps at 30 VDC. The EVD-2 system, listed by Underwriters Laboratories, pairs an EVD-M controller with an EVD-R remote pickup, and the EVD-M supports up to 15 EVD-R remote pickups and fully supervises their wiring. The EVD-1C and EVD-2C packs add an HSC high security safe contact.
