Outdoor Motion Detectors

Outdoors the detector has to ignore rain, wind and animals and still catch a person, so the range is organised around how it rejects false alarms rather than around raw range.

Weatherproof passive infrared detectors cover short range work such as triggering lighting or cameras, with narrow pattern versions for a path or a side passage. Dual technology units combine microwave and PIR at 40 feet over 90 degrees with anti-masking, in hardwired and wireless ready versions, and high mount battery powered detectors cover positions with no cable.

Photoelectric beams take over where an area detector will not do. Quad beams with multiple frequencies and double modulation are listed at 200 and 350 feet outdoors, short range beams at 200 feet in an IP65 structure, and the beam series can be stacked in towers. A drive-up annunciator kit pairs a chime box relay with an indoor and outdoor sensor for a gate or a forecourt.
