Wireless Door & Window Contacts

A wireless contact is two pieces: a transmitter on the frame and a magnet on the moving door or sash. Separate them and the transmitter reports the opening to the panel. It is the highest-volume device in any wireless system because every protected opening needs one, so small differences in size, gap tolerance, and battery life add up quickly across a job.

Miniature housings such as the 5800MINI, stocked in white and brown, suit windows and interior doors where the customer does not want to see the hardware. Wide gap versions like the 5815WG tolerate roughly an inch or more between transmitter and magnet, which is what saves an install on a warped door, a steel frame, or a window that does not close squarely. Some models add a shock sensor in the same housing, such as the 5819S, so one device covers both opening and impact on a glass door, and many include auxiliary terminals so an existing wired contact can be brought in as a second point. Expect a supervised lithium cell rated for years, a cover and wall tamper, and a status LED for walk testing during enrollment.
