Transmitters

Wireless Transmitters

A transmitter is the adapter of a wireless system. When a device has a dry contact but no radio of its own, an overhead door switch, a pressure mat, an existing hardwired loop, a piece of equipment with an alarm output, a transmitter puts that contact onto the panel's supervised wireless loop and gives it a zone like any other sensor.

Multi-zone versions such as the three-zone, commercial-rated 5817CBXT carry several independent inputs in one housing, which is efficient where a few contacts land in the same place, such as a bank of windows or a row of overhead doors. Commercial-rated models are built for the supervision intervals and tamper requirements those installations demand. All of them check in on a schedule so the panel reports a missing or dead transmitter as a trouble rather than quietly losing a zone, and all run on batteries the panel supervises.
