Connected Cameras
A connected camera pairs to the customer's security account rather than to a recorder on site. Video and motion clips go to the cloud, the user watches them in the same app that arms the system, and there is no DVR, no hard drive to fail, and no coax to pull. For a home or a small office that wants a few views and notifications, it is a much smaller job than a traditional surveillance install.
Expect the specification an indoor unit like the IPCAM-WIC2 sets: 1080p resolution, a fixed wide lens, infrared night vision measured in tens of feet rather than hundreds, and clip-based recording triggered by motion instead of continuous video. That trade is deliberate: it keeps bandwidth and storage manageable. Where a site needs continuous recording, long retention, or coverage of a large exterior, a dedicated surveillance system is still the right answer.
