Wi-Fi Security Cameras

Cameras answer the question an alarm cannot: what actually happened. A connected Wi-Fi camera streams live video to the user's phone and records a short clip when it sees motion, so a 2 a.m. notification can be resolved in seconds instead of turning into a drive across town or an unnecessary dispatch.

Indoor models such as the IPCAM-WIC2 are compact enough to sit on a shelf, deliver 1080p at up to thirty frames per second, and switch to infrared night vision that typically reaches about thirty feet in a dark room. Because they run over the building's Wi-Fi rather than coaxial or Ethernet home runs, installation is a power outlet and a network join, with no recorder to rack. Plan for upload bandwidth and for the clip storage the account provides, and mount where the router's signal is genuinely strong.
