HES 9100 Series Surface Mount Electric Strike for Glass Doors
Product Overview
Overview
The HES 9100 Series is a low-profile, surface-mounted electric strike designed for single frameless glass doors equipped with tubular vertical rod exit devices. It retrofits into the existing door frame prep with no cutting required, providing fast, easy installation without altering the frame. An integrated adjustment feature ensures optimal latch engagement, even for challenging or misaligned openings, to maintain secure locking.
Feature-set
This strike has variable voltage sensing that accepts a 12–24 VDC input voltage (no manual settings are required). The unit can be configured in the field for either fail-secure (locked when unpowered) or fail-safe (unlocked when unpowered) operation to satisfy life safety code requirements when needed. Monitoring options are available so that the 9100 can send latchbolt and strike status signals to an access control system for further security management. Models are available for left or right-hand door swing, and a variety of architectural finishes help to match existing door hardware.
Performance
Built for strength and durability to perform in a heavy-duty capacity, the 9100 Series exceeds ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 performance for strength and durability. The 9100 delivers up to 1,500 lbs of static holding force, and the 9100 has been endurance tested to 1,000,000 cycles to ensure long-lasting durability and performance. The 9100 is UL listed for secure code-compliant openings (UL 1034 - Burglary Resistant, UL 305 - Panic Hardware) and rated for outdoor use in extreme weather conditions. With a stainless steel cover and tamper-resistant cover, the housing was intended to stand up to outdoor service conditions to protect the internal components to ensure dependable and reliable performance in high-traffic and high-security applications.
Application
The HES 9100 Series gives facility managers and installers a simple and effective way to secure glass entrances without expensive alterations. The no-cut installation and auto-adjusting design allows to save installation time and labor costs over a traditional electric strike. The small slim design maintains the beautiful aesthetic of glass doors and glass entryways, and it is the perfect solution to operate glass doors in offices, storefronts, and institutional facilities when safety and aesthetics are both a concern. The 9100 Series allows integration with existing exit devices and electronic access control equipment, making fast retrofits of glass-door openings a reality and accomplishing safety codes and security needs without labor intensive replacements.
Key Features & Benefits
- No Frame Cutting Required: Installs using the existing frame prep and header holes, eliminating any need to cut or grind the door frame.
- Integrated Adjustability: Designed with built-in horizontal adjustment to ensure the latchbolt seats firmly into the strike pocket allowing for door sag or misalignment.
- Auto-Sensing Dual Voltage: Adaptable voltage technology accepts 12 VDC or 24 VDC input automatically with no jumper changes or special wiring.
- Field Selectable Fail Safe/Secure: User selectable features provide the freedom to select fail-secure (unlocks only while powered) or fail-safe (no power lock) to meet life safety standards.
- Optional Monitoring Outputs: Supports plug-in latchbolt monitor (LM) or latchbolt + strike monitor (LMS) modules for remote door status indication to the access control system.
- Grade 1 Strength & Durability: Exceeds ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 testing and specifications up to 1,500 lb holding force with tested 1,000,000 latch cycles, ensuring the highest level of performance.
- Slim, Low-Profile Design: 1-7/8" tall and 3/4" thick strike body, and sleek cover that hides the mounting screws help to preserve the low-profile aesthetics associated with all-glass entrances.
- All Stainless Steel Construction: Heavy-duty strike body and heavy-duty stainless steel internal components are corrosion resistant and tamper resistant providing you with many years of performance, indoors or outdoors.
