The HES 1600 Series is a heavy-duty, modular Grade 1 electric strike that fits all major brands of cylindrical and mortise locksets - including locks with an integrated deadbolt up to 1" throw. It drops into a standard 4-7/8" ANSI strike cutout in metal or wood frames, and the non-handed, fully finished body installs on right- or left-hand doors with a compact 1-5/8" (41.3 mm) depth.
Rated for 1,500 lbs of static holding force and 70 ft-lbs of dynamic impact, and cycle tested beyond 1,000,000 operations, the stainless steel, tamper-resistant strike is field selectable for fail-safe or fail-secure operation with no extra parts and runs on dual voltage 12/24 VAC/VDC with low current draw.
An integrated adjustable shim and interchangeable faceplate system align the strike to varied frames, and optional lock and strike monitoring reports door status to access control systems. Order the strike body alone or as a Complete Pac kit for latchbolt locks (CLB), locks with deadbolts (CDB), or combined latchbolt and deadbolt applications. The 1600 is outdoor rated, fire rated up to 3 hours in fail-secure mode, backed by a 5 year no-fault warranty, and finished in six architectural finishes.

- Does the 1600 work with deadbolts?
- Yes - unlike the slimmer HES 1500, the 1600 accepts locksets with an integrated deadbolt up to 1" throw, and the CDB Complete Pac bundles the deadbolt faceplates.
- How is it different from the HES 1006?
- The 1006 holds more than 3,000 lbs; the 1600 holds 1,500 lbs but adds a fully finished housing and greater in-frame adjustability, making it the easier retrofit for most openings.
