Industrial Strike Series

The 310 Series is the heavy end: 3 hour fire-rated, all stainless steel construction for high abuse applications that would disable other electric strikes, with an endurance rating of 500,000 cycles, non-handed fitting, fail secure as standard, a plug-in connector and a five year limited warranty. It takes a 1/2 inch or 5/8 inch throw latchbolt without a deadbolt, on single doors and pairs, drawing .25 Amps at 24VDC continuous duty. A vertical surface mounted version covers rim exit devices with a swinging Pullman style latchbolt, including both leaves of a pair where the vertical rod spacing falls between 4-5/8 and 5-3/8 inches.

The 700 Series covers hollow metal frames, listed as 710, 712, 732 and 742-75 bodies. The 712 has a horizontally adjustable keeper that compensates for door and frame misalignment at a 1/2 inch keeper depth, and the 742-75 uses full keeper shims with deadlatch tabs at 3/4 inch. Both are rated at 1,500 pounds static strength and 70 ft pounds dynamic, drawing .15 Amps at 24VDC or .29 Amps at 12VDC, and are listed ASTM-E152 and NFPA-252 fire door conformant, New York City accepted and DOD approved.

Bodies, Keepers and Faceplates

Most listings are a strike body, a keeper or a faceplate rather than a complete electric strike. A strike body is listed by series, keeper style and voltage, often with no faceplate option, so the faceplate is ordered separately to suit the frame. Keeper styles run 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, 1 inch and PK, the PK keeper being the one for rim panic devices. A strike body with no faceplate option needs a faceplate ordered with it, so check the keeper style and voltage on the listing.

Monitoring and Power

Monitoring options are built into the part number. A latchbolt monitor reports whether the door is latched, a locking cam monitor reports the position of the cam, and the LBM, LCM and LCBMA suffixes mark strikes carrying one or both with an auxiliary switch. Voltage is 12VDC or 24VDC, fail secure as standard with fail safe versions listed separately, in 630 satin stainless steel and 627 satin aluminum finishes.

Service Parts

Replacement parts are stocked down to the component: 24VDC solenoids for 300 Series and pull type solenoid assemblies for the 700 Series, keeper pins with a notch, locking cam pins and springs and locking lever springs. On a strike rated for 500,000 cycles, replacing a solenoid is usually the repair rather than replacing the unit.
