Releasing Panels
Releasing Control Panels
A releasing panel does more than detect a fire: it decides when to discharge a suppression system. That makes it the right choice for spaces protected by a deluge or preaction sprinkler system, or by a clean agent system in a server room, archive, or clean room, where water or agent should only release when detection has confirmed a real fire.
The MRP-2001 is a six-zone panel for water-based releasing, controlling deluge and preaction sprinkler valves for one or two hazards. The MRP-2002 covers agent-based releasing for single and dual hazards. Both provide the logic these systems depend on: cross-zone, or double-interlock, operation that requires two separate detection zones to agree before release, adjustable discharge timers, with pre-discharge and waterflow delays on the MRP-2002 and soak timers on the MRP-2001, and six programmable Class B initiating circuits. Both are listed to UL 864 and FM approved, and E versions accept 240 VAC input. Because releasing systems combine fire alarm and suppression, confirm the design against the suppression manufacturer's requirements and the authority having jurisdiction before installation.
