Pull Stations
Fire Alarm Pull Stations
A pull station is the manual alarm initiating device required near exits by code, and the BG-12 family is Fire-Lite's standard. The suffix letters describe how a given station works, so it is worth decoding before ordering.
Dual-action stations require a push and then a pull, which cuts accidental and malicious activations in schools and public spaces, while single-action stations, the S models, operate with a single pull. The base BG-12 resets with a hex key, and an L in the part number means a key lock reset instead. The BG-12LX adds an addressable module inside, set with rotary decimal switches, so the station reports its own address on a Fire-Lite addressable loop. The BG-12L and BG-12S are the conventional workhorses with a normally open contact, and A versions add auxiliary contacts for local functions. For exterior walls, O models are gasketed for outdoor use and the BG-12LOB includes an outdoor backbox. Specialty stations cover agent release for suppression systems and pre-signal operation, and the XAL-53 is rated for hazardous locations with flammable gases or combustible dust. Standard BG-12 stations carry Braille lettering for accessibility.
