Putting life safety on the security panel means the central station hears about a fire whether or not anyone is home, which is the argument for a system detector over a standalone alarm from a hardware store. DSC covers it with a hardwired FSA family and wireless devices that report over the same 433 MHz radio as the intrusion sensors.

Read the FSA suffixes and the part number tells you the device. The 210 series is two-wire and the 410 series is four-wire; T adds integral dual-sensor heat detection, S adds an onboard sounder, and R adds an auxiliary relay, so an FSA-210BST is a two-wire photoelectric detector with sounder and heat. All of them use a low-profile housing, automatic drift compensation to hold sensitivity as the chamber ages, and a removable chamber for cleaning, and they are listed for both residential and commercial use across DSC control panels. On the wireless side, the WS4916 brings the same photoelectric sensing, built-in horn, and dual-sensor heat to buildings that cannot be rewired, running on long-life lithium batteries, with the WS4926 as the smoke-only version and the WS4913 adding electrochemical carbon monoxide detection.
