Glass & Flood Detectors
Glass Break & Flood Detectors
These two device types answer losses that door contacts never see. One covers the intruder who breaks the window instead of opening it. The other covers the burst supply line or failed water heater, which produces far more insurance claims than burglary and does its damage slowly, while nobody is watching.
Acoustic glass break detectors cover a whole wall of glass from one device. The WLS912L-433 uses a high-performance microphone with dynamic signal processing to tell breaking glass from ordinary household and office noise, and it recognizes the full range of framed glass types including plate, float, tempered, wired, and laminated. An installer-selectable dip switch sets sensitivity to suit the room. Flood detectors use a probe placed at the low point of a risk area, under a water heater, behind a washing machine, in a finished basement, and report as soon as water bridges the sensor, so the panel can notify the owner while the problem is still a mop rather than a claim.
