The TekTone SF117/2C is a two-pole emergency call pull-cord switch designed for compatible CM800 emergency call systems and standalone low-voltage signaling applications. Featuring a 6-foot nylon pull cord, DPDT switch contacts, and a flame-retardant UL 94V-0 plastic faceplate, it allows users to activate an emergency call with a short pull in any direction. The station provides two switching circuits for separate audible and visual notification devices, requires reset at the point of activation, and mounts to a standard single-gang electrical box.

TekTone SF117/2C Two-Pole Emergency Call Pull-Cord Switch

The TekTone SF117/2C Emergency Call Switch is a wall-mounted, manually operated signaling device designed to initiate assistance requests in compatible emergency call and annunciation systems. Part of TekTone's SF117 Series, the SF117/2C features a 6-foot nylon pull cord connected to a rugged, positive-acting mechanical switch, enabling a user to activate an emergency signal with a short pull in any direction. The pull-cord design supports accessible call activation from seated or low positions when installed appropriately. Its white plastic faceplate displays prominent EMERGENCY lettering for easy identification. The SF117/2C is intended for use with TekTone CM800 emergency call systems or compatible standalone low-voltage notification circuits in healthcare facilities, assisted-living environments, restrooms, and other locations requiring manually initiated assistance signaling.

The SF117/2C incorporates a double-pole, double-throw (DPDT) mechanical switch that provides two independently switched circuits for controlling separate notification functions. In a typical emergency call installation, these circuits operate an audible signal and a visual indicator, such as a remote tone device and corridor light, through the appropriate external control equipment. The positive-acting switch mechanism maintains the emergency call condition until the station is reset at its point of origin, preventing the call from being canceled solely at a remote annunciator. This arrangement helps ensure the activated station is attended to before the emergency indication is cleared. The SF117/2C is a passive switching device and does not contain an integrated audible alarm, visual indicator, wireless transmitter, or independent electrical power source.

Designed for TekTone CM800 emergency call and local annunciation systems, the SF117/2C can be connected to compatible central annunciator equipment for identifying emergency call locations or configured in a standalone signaling circuit. TekTone identifies the SS106 transformer and LI381 or LI123B corridor light as applicable components for standalone installations. The unit uses factory-provided wire leads for electrical connections and mounts in a standard single-gang electrical box. Its two-pole contact configuration supports separate audible and visual notification circuits, while the related SF117/4C four-pole model provides two additional switching circuits for installations requiring more signaling functions. The actual system voltage, connected load, and wiring arrangement must follow the appropriate TekTone installation diagrams and the electrical ratings of the complete signaling system.

The TekTone SF117/2C features a flame-retardant plastic mounting panel meeting UL 94V-0 material requirements, with a clearly labeled emergency call designation and durable nylon activation cord. The unit measures approximately 4.5 inches high, 2.75 inches wide, and 1.5 inches deep, providing a standard single-gang wall-plate footprint. Its straightforward construction allows use in both new installations and compatible replacement applications within established emergency call systems. TekTone's CM800 installation documentation recommends locating SF117 Series stations where occupants can readily operate the pull cord while avoiding locations subject to direct water contact. The SF117/2C provides a dependable mechanical emergency call initiation point with dual-circuit switching, local reset operation, and compatibility with centralized or standalone annunciation equipment.
