The Securitron M34R Recessed Magnalock is a concealed electromagnetic locking device engineered to secure single sliding doors in commercial access control and traffic management applications. Providing 500 lbs (227 kg) of magnetic holding force, the M34R is designed for automatic sliding doors, interior storage rooms, patio entrances, and controlled openings within monitored security perimeters. Its recessed mounting configuration positions the electromagnet within the door frame and the strike assembly within the door edge, minimizing exposed hardware while maintaining a secure locking connection. The lock uses a fail-safe operating principle, remaining secured when energized and releasing when electrical power is removed.

The M34R features automatic 12/24 VDC dual-voltage operation, eliminating manual voltage selection during installation. Electrical consumption measures 320 mA at 12 VDC and 170 mA at 24 VDC, supporting integration with compatible access control power supplies. A patented instant-release circuit eliminates residual magnetism to facilitate immediate unlocking when power is interrupted, while an integrated metal oxide varistor (MOV) suppresses electrical transients generated during switching. The fully sealed electromagnetic assembly protects internal components against moisture and tampering, and plated ferrous metal surfaces resist corrosion. The lock operates across temperatures from -40 F to 140 F (-40 C to 60 C), supporting indoor and outdoor access control applications.

The Securitron M34R electromagnetic lock incorporates a compact recessed housing measuring 10-1/2 inches long, 1-1/8 inches deep, and 1-1/2 inches high. Its accompanying strike assembly measures 6-3/8 inches long, 1/2 inch deep, and 1-7/16 inches high. The lock features an architectural US32D/630 satin stainless steel finish and includes 10 feet (3.05 meters) of jacketed, stranded conductor cable for electrical connections. Direct mounting within the door frame provides concealed installation, while the floating strike plate arrangement accommodates proper magnetic alignment. Optional M34R configurations include the M34RB with BondSTAT magnetic bond monitoring, M34RD with an integrated door position switch, and M34RBD with both monitoring functions. These monitoring features are not included with the standard M34R model.

Designed for integration with electronic access control systems, the Securitron M34R Magnalock provides electrically controlled locking for sliding doors when used with compatible power supplies, controllers, and release devices.
