Securitron M32FD 600 lb Face-Drilled Magnalock with Door Position Switch

The Securitron M32FD Magnalock is a surface-mounted electromagnetic door lock engineered for commercial access control systems requiring dependable security and integrated door monitoring. The lock delivers 600 lbs (272 kg) of electromagnetic holding force and features a face-drilled mounting configuration with a built-in door position switch (DPS) that detects whether a door is open or closed. Its fail-safe operation releases the locking mechanism when electrical power is removed, making it suitable for controlled-access offices, corridors, storage rooms, and institutional facilities.

The M32FD operates on 12 or 24 VDC with automatic voltage sensing, drawing 300 mA at 12 VDC or 150 mA at 24 VDC. Securitron's patented instant-release circuit eliminates residual magnetism, allowing the armature plate to disengage promptly when power is interrupted. The electromagnetic lock measures 8 inches long, 1-5/8 inches deep, and 1-7/8 inches high and features a brushed stainless steel finish (US32D/630). Fully sealed electronics and corrosion-resistant components support indoor and outdoor operation across temperatures ranging from -40 F to +140 F (-40 C to +60 C).

The integrated door position switch provides monitoring of the door's physical open or closed position, allowing compatible access control and security systems to detect door status. Unlike BondSTAT-equipped models, the M32FD monitors door position without measuring magnetic bond status. Its face-drilled configuration supports the corresponding mounting arrangement, while steel machine screws and collapsing blind nuts secure the assembly. Installation requires a minimum of 2-1/4 inches of flat mounting space, and the included 10-foot jacketed conductor cable supports electrical connections to compatible access control equipment.

The Securitron M32FD is designed for commercial and institutional access-controlled openings where electromagnetic locking and door position monitoring are required. Common applications include office buildings, secured storage areas, interior corridors, and restricted-access facilities. Compared with the standard M32F, the M32FD adds integrated door position monitoring, while the M32FBD provides both door position and magnetic bond status monitoring. The lock's fail-safe design supports integration with properly designed emergency egress systems, subject to applicable building and fire safety codes.
