Nedap 9966765 Dual!D Card Holder

The ability to identify both the driver and the vehicle has been a unique feature of our well established TRANSIT product line. Access control cards are used to identify the person. A Booster device inside the card reads the card and sends the card ID and the vehicle ID to our reader.

A similar feature is now also available for our uPASS Reach UHF reader. Nedap has developed a card holder that can be mounted on the windshield. The card holder is used to identify the vehicle. The reader is configured to only proceed with reading any ID if there is a valid Nedap ID for vehicles present. The reader will at that time identify the vehicle (card holder) and the driver (the card in the card holder). Only relevant UHF tags are read which prevents errors and limits security risks.

The UHF card can be taken from the card holder and used by the driver to get access to the building. For this purpose Nedap provides a wide range of UHF combi cards that combine UHF technology with regular access control cards (HID, MIFARE, Legic, Nedap, EM, etc).

The Dual!D card holder can easily be fixed to a windshield with the large adhesive front side of the card holder. Once properly glued to the windshield the card holder will be difficult to remove. When removed, you can easily tell so by the dame that is done to the special foam material that was stuck to the windshield, which makes it a rather tamper proof system.

You can easily slide cards into the holder. The card holder positions the card with sufficient distance to the glass to ensure an optimal reading distance by the reader. The adhesive foam is provided with a Nedap design. When you procure larger volumes a custom design is possible.

Dual!D can be applied in many situations: corporate car parks, residential car parks at condominiums, vehicular access gates to commercial estates: a lot of applications come to mind. If the fleet of cars to be managed is not changing too rapidly and you would like to offer convenient access at a higher security level then the Dual!D extension to our UHF products is a really good option to consider.
