This stand alone solution, which does not require anything more than web browser access to the reader, has been developed to meet the increasing need for out of the box integrated perimeter systems solutions, requiring an absolute minimum of cabling while being completely IP compatible.

The TRANSIT Edge is a complete stand alone system developed to allow for quick, easy and cost efficient deployment of perimeter security access to a wide range of facilities.

There is no software to install with the TRANSIT Edge. Using HID Edge technology, all control of access profiles and event logs are contained right at the reader level at each gate. The application can be accessed remotely via standard web browser. System will authorize up to 1,000 tag holders.

The TRANSIT Edge connects directly to your central PC or network using nothing more than a standard CAT-5/6 cable and a DC power, and can be immediately deployed without any further installation required.

The TRANSIT Edge unit has integrated long range reading functionality. The TRANSIT Edge can identify the tag up to 33 feet [10 m] as soon as it comes into range of the unit.

The system requires line of sight between the tag and the reader. The TRANSIT Edge unit is installed over or nearby locations where the vehicle needs to be identified. Using a secure algorithm, the tag ID is decoded and transmitted to the host system. The identification beam of the reader is a directed lobe.

A wide variety of vehicle based tags are available. Vehicle based tags are programmed with a unique ID number and are mounted either to the windshield or to the exterior of the vehicle.

The TRANSIT Edge can be used in a wide variety of applications including Gated Community Access, Resort Access, Perimeter Security, Special Event Access and Remote Employee Parking Facilities where a stand alone long range vehicle access solution is required without complex installation.
