The ISONAS RC-04-MCT-M Pure IP Reader-Controller combines contactless credential reading and intelligent electronic door control in a single mullion-mounted device. Manufactured by ISONAS, an Allegion brand, this all-in-one access control unit supports 125 kHz proximity credentials, 13.56 MHz smart cards, and Bluetooth Low Energy mobile credentials. Unlike conventional access control readers that require a separate centralized controller, the RC-04 performs local credential validation and door control using its integrated processing electronics. The device communicates directly over an Ethernet network and can operate with Pure Access Cloud or Pure Access Manager for centralized user administration, access scheduling, and event monitoring. Its narrow-profile housing is suitable for aluminum storefronts, commercial offices, schools, healthcare facilities, and other controlled entrances with limited mounting space.

The RC-04-MCT-M supports up to 64,000 credentials, 5,000 stored events, and 32 time schedules, allowing local access decisions even during temporary interruptions in communication with the management server. Its multi-credential reader supports 125 kHz FSK proximity cards, 13.56 MHz MIFARE Classic, MIFARE Ultralight, MIFARE Plus, compatible MIFARE DESFire credentials, and selected iCLASS card serial numbers. Built-in Bluetooth Low Energy 4.1 or later enables compatible smartphone credentials through the ISONAS Pure Mobile application. The manufacturer specifies a typical RFID card reading distance of 3 inches (76 mm) and proximity reading response times below 250 milliseconds. Its 10 Mbps Ethernet interface supports TCP/IP communication, DHCP addressing, and configurable network host or client operation through a standard RJ45 connection. The integrated controller provides up to 600 mA of conditioned 12 VDC output for a compatible electric lock when powered through PoE, subject to the manufacturer's power budget. An eight-wire pigtail supplies connections for lock power, door position sensing, request-to-exit or auxiliary inputs, and compatible exterior door kit equipment. The controller supports appropriately configured fail-safe and fail-secure locking devices, with door activation and monitoring functions managed through the associated access control software. Direct 24 VDC input is not permitted and may permanently damage the controller.

The RC-04-MCT-M measures 5.1 inches high, 1.7 inches wide, and 0.71 inch deep (approximately 130 43 18 mm), allowing installation on narrow door mullions and compatible structural mounting surfaces. Its metal mounting backplate supports secure attachment, while conformal-coated electronics and an IP56 environmental rating provide resistance to dust and water exposure in suitable indoor and outdoor installations.
