Kidde R-Series Annunciators are high-performance remote annunciators that provide status indication and shared controls for fire alarm control panels that are compatible with them. This family of indicators features LCD or LED displays. There are models with and without standard controls.


There are three R-Series indicator models in addition to an LED-based expander. Each annunciator can be connected to a maximum of two expanders. The expander contains 24 pairs of LEDs that augment the functionality of any of the indicator lights.


All annunciator models include status LEDs and an internal buzzer. Two models feature an LCD text display, while one model features 16 pairs of LEDs for zone indication. LCD models feature a large, backlit, super-twist liquid crystal display with four by twenty characters per line.


Using the included mounting ring, R-Series annunciators and expanders are mounted on a standard 4-inch square electrical box. They can also be surface-mounted in steel enclosures with locks. Three different enclosures are available.


An interface with a keyswitch and graphical annunciator is available for R-Series annunciator applications. The switch activates or deactivates common controls. On the graphic panel display, the graphic annunicator interface cards support 32 LEDs and 16 switches.

Graphic Communicator User Interface
The GCI Graphic Annunicator is an interface card that links the fire alarm control panel to an LED-based graphic annunciator's display panel.

On the graphic panel display, the annunciator card supports 32 LEDs and 16 buttons. It has status LEDs and a built-in buzzer.

The graphic interface includes a snap track mounting system. It is mounted on a plastic rail that requires two EIA panels.

The annunciator and FACP communicate over the RS485 data riser. This is configurable for either Class A or Class B communication. The indicator does not provide isolation from ground faults. It can be powered by the FACP or an approved power supply.
