Electromechanical Gate Locks

A gate lock has to hold against far more than a person pushing on it. Vehicle gates are heavy, operators apply force as they close, wind loads long panels, and temperature swings move posts and hinges out of alignment. The GL1 electromechanical gate lock is built to secure gates through all of that and still release on command.

Every GL1 delivers 2,000 pounds of holding force in a weather-resistant housing for indoor or outdoor use on vehicle, pedestrian, and stock cage gates, swinging or sliding, whether the gate is moved by hand or by an operator. It runs on 12 or 24 VDC with automatic voltage selection, uses a self-aligning receiver to tolerate the movement gates develop over time, and is designed to release even when the gate is pulling against the lock. Four functions cover the usual requirements. The GL1-FL is standard fail-locked, holding the gate secure through a power loss, and the GL1-FS is standard fail-safe, releasing when power is removed. The monitored GL1-FLM and GL1-FSM add status reporting so the access control system knows whether the gate is actually locked, which matters on unattended perimeter gates.
